How the verdict is reached

Methodology

A 360° equity research process that runs every stock past a panel of legendary investors — in minutes, the same way every time.

Refacto Stocks assesses a company the way a disciplined investment committee would. It gathers evidence from many independent channels, runs it past a council of 18 investor & academic lenses — each encoding the documented philosophy of an investor or finance professor with a real track record — computes an independent DCF valuation, and a chairperson synthesizes a single layered call.

  1. 1GatherFilings, financials, price, news, retail sentiment, earnings-call transcripts.
  2. 2ValueNormalize a fact base; run a CAPM-WACC DCF (skipped for banks/REITs).
  3. 3CouncilEach lens scores it against its own bar — some abstain when their style doesn’t fit.
  4. 4ChairSynthesizes a score, a call, and the dissent into one verdict.

The council

Each member judges only against its own school’s criteria — and abstains when its style doesn’t fit. The disagreement is the signal.

What it reads

  • SEC filings — 10-K / 10-Q / 8-K full text
  • Fundamentals — revenue, margins, ROE, FCF, P/E, P/S
  • Valuation — a two-stage DCF (CAPM WACC, terminal / residual value, bull / base / bear)
  • Price — current price, market cap, 52-week range
  • News & retail sentiment
  • Earnings calls — the actual call, transcribed

What you get

A top-line score (0–100) and a Pass / Watch / Avoid call for fast filtering — backed by a full dossier: bull case, bear case, the council’s dissent, the DCF bridge, key risks, catalysts, and every member’s reasoning.

Philosophy

The council is deliberately value-disciplined: it withholds a “Pass” without a genuine margin of safety, and weighs the bears — a valuation referee and a forensic short-seller — as heavily as the bulls. Because the classic investor schools score a business as it is today and can under-weight a technology shift, a dedicated AI & disruption referee stress-tests every name over a 3–10 year horizon — asking whether AI and automation commoditize the moat, disintermediate the company, or durably strengthen it — and every lens is prompted to weigh that risk through its own frame. The result isn’t a stock tip; it’s a structured, repeatable second opinion.
