Google Cloud has made Nano Banana 2 Lite — formally Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite Image — generally available as its fastest and most cost-efficient image generation and editing model. It can generate an image in as little as four seconds and improves on its predecessor (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) in world knowledge, character consistency, and in-image text rendering. The model is being used by Manus AI to power real-time image generation inside autonomous agent workflows (e.g., slide decks and web pages), and by Figma for rapid iteration on its node-based canvas. Provisioned throughput (dedicated API capacity for high-concurrency use) is available from launch, and both models ship with C2PA credentials and SynthID watermarks by default.
