AWS Security Hub MCP App integrates exposure findings into AI workflows
agent-framework mcp reliability tool-use
Full analysis
AWS has launched a preview of the Security Hub MCP App, a local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — MCP is a standard that lets AI assistants call external tools and data sources — that connects AWS Security Hub security findings directly to Claude Desktop. Users can investigate their security posture in natural language, exploring attack paths, correlated findings, affected resource configurations, and remediation recommendations without leaving their AI-assisted workflow.
The server runs locally using existing AWS credentials and is entirely read-only, meaning no changes are made to the environment. Each tool call returns both a text summary for the AI agent to reason over and an interactive visualization for the user to verify. The app is available at no additional cost to existing Security Hub customers across all supported AWS commercial regions.
