Amazon CloudWatch has launched 'Coding Agent Insights,' a new feature giving engineering leaders visibility into how AI coding tools are performing across their organizations. That covers Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and GitHub Copilot. The feature collects telemetry (usage and performance data) via the OpenTelemetry standard and integrates natively with the Claude Apps Gateway for AWS, requiring no additional instrumentation for Claude Code users.
The dashboard surfaces metrics such as token spend trends, commit throughput, pull-request velocity, and cost-to-output ratios by model, helping organizations answer ROI questions like which teams should get expanded AI coding access and how to right-size token budgets by department.
