Amazon Bedrock AgentCore expands to four additional AWS regions
ai-in-adtech cloud-costs engineering
Regional expansion for an AI agent platform is table stakes, not a headline — but the fact that AWS is pushing Amazon Bedrock AgentCore into Bangkok, Malaysia, Milan, and Spain all at once, with the full capability stack on day one, signals this is a serious production rollout, not a preview. Latency matters for agents in ways it didn't for batch inference, so proximity to end users is a real architectural win for customers in those markets. The question now is whether the workloads follow.
Full analysis
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore — AWS's platform for building, deploying, and optimizing AI agents — is now available in Asia Pacific (Bangkok), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Europe (Milan), and Europe (Spain). The expansion allows customers in those regions to run agents closer to end users for lower latency. All core AgentCore capabilities launch immediately in these regions, including agent runtime, identity and access control, policy management, session persistence, tool connectivity, and observability.
